A hobby became a Dream & Passion!

Mach1 Motivation

We have people walking into our gyms everyday for a number of reasons, to get fit, learn self defence or train in one of our effective martial arts. The bonus benefit that members achieve is their positive body transformations with often unbelievable results!

Here are just a few of our amazing stories from 2017!

“I came back to Mach1 after having my 3rd child. I was diagnosed with PCOS and I was training daily at the gym and not losing weight. I decided to come back to Mach1 and within 3 months I went from a size 14- 16 to a size 10 and within another 3 months I was down to my normal weight of size 6.”

“I managed to lose most of my post baby weight before starting at MACH1, but I wanted to challenge myself a bit more and see what martial arts was all about .

I started with the women’s kick boxing classes and after one class I knew I was hooked. I loved it. I now do boxing and Muay Thai and a bit of BJJ when I can fit it in.

It’s not like a normal fitness class because you are learning real technique in boxing and Muay Thai. I found myself so busy concentrating on technique and how it all flows together that the months just passed and I got fitter and better.

The biggest difference for me is that all the boxing and kicking has given me muscle definition that I’ve NEVER had before, that no other sport has ever given me and I’ve done them all!!! I’m feeling the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been and it’s been so much fun, it doesn’t feel like hard work.

I just wish I’d found it earlier!”

“I originally started training in Muay Thai as I saw it as a way to increase my level of fitness and thought it would be a good idea for some self defence. Coming from a karate background I thought that getting back into Martial arts was a great idea. Even though I never had any intentions on taking the sport too seriously, but after starting Muay Thai my ideas and seriousness about the sport began to change.

My love for the sport continued to skyrocket which then lead me on the path to pursuing the challenge to take my love for the sport to the next level. By training to prepare for stepping my very own two feet inside the ring. This then lead me onto the goal to drastically increase my overall level of fitness, to give me the best possible advantage for winning over my future opponents in the ring. Once I started training 4-6 times a week my body began to drastically change in every way.

I found a huge loss in body fat while also gaining muscle mass. My motivations/future goals are to have a crack into the fighting world of being a fighter. I plan to first start off in the Muay Thai scene then progress from there to see where the path of a fighter will take me. Training at M1FC for me has been a life changing experience and I consider it as one of the best decisions I’ve made! I love being a part of M1FC.

Once I joined M1FC, I soon realised that not only have I joined a club, but instead I’ve joined a family!!! Coming a part of this family has allowed to me progress much further both mentally and physically as a person way beyond my expectations before I started training. M1FC has given me the opportunity to meet many new amazing people. Where we all share each others’ interest for the sport while we all motivate, inspire, encourage and push each to strive above and beyond out self set goals.

Becoming a part of the M1FC family has also allowed me to myself find a mentor to look up to who has done nothing but create a positive impact on my life. Who always pushes me to strive to be the best of what I can as an individual. After being at M1FC for over 2 years now I’ve grown so much as a person in a positive way. I’ve benefited in every area as an individual from becoming a part of M1FC family.”

“1.5 years ago I made the decision to try out Muay Thai, stepping into Mach1 was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. I originally just wanted to start it as a hobby; something to get me out the house and to stop my unhealthy habits (smoking/drinking/no exercise) but as time went on this sport became addicting and turned from being a hobby in to becoming a dream and a passion.

It’s made me mentally fitter and stronger and has drastically helped me reduce my anxiety (as there were periods of time where I couldn’t leave my bed or even go to school) and I can always go to the gym knowing I’ll walk out feeling better than before. I’ve lost 10kg in the last 6-7 months since I had the operation on my wrist and I feel so much healthier and stronger.

As much as it’s an individual journey i couldn’t of done it without the support and encouragement that I continually receive from everyone at M1FC and I can’t thank the Mach1 family enough (especially you Steve) for always pushing and motivating me to do and be my best. M1FC has given me the opportunity and motivation to constantly learn, grow and better myself in every aspect.

The goal for this year is to finally step in the ring and I can’t wait for what is yet to come!”
